He succeeds Anup Jain, who has now moved on to head marketing and food innovation for Pizza Hut, Australia.
Sunay Bhasin has been appointed as the marketing head of Pizza Hut for the Indian subcontinent. He took over the new role on August 5. As marketing head, Bhasin will be responsible for all marketing, branding and brand-related public relations activities for Pizza Hut.
On his new appointment, Bhasin tells afaqs!, "In my new mandate, I intend to build upon the 'affordable casual dining' brand positioning for Pizza Hut. The entire campaign and communication for Pizza Hut will revolve around the variety of offerings that we offer and the experience that people have. We wish to express that we are not a quick service food joint."
Bhasin joined Pizza Hut in 2007 as marketing manager, and played a key role in establishing the roadmap for the brand's journey to the ACDR (affordable casual dining restaurant) space. In 2009, he relocated to Dallas, USA, as marketing manager for KFC International.
With a career spanning more than 10 years in allied fields of brand management and marketing, prior to joining Yum! Restaurants International, he has worked with companies such as GSK Consumer Healthcare and SC Johnson. An IIM Calcutta alumnus, Bhasin has vast exposure across consumer retail, FMCG, and healthcare industries.
