Earlier, he handled research and strategy as general manager, Starcom MediaVest.

Srikanth Raman joins Percept Media, the media planning, buying and evaluation arm of Percept Limited, as chief planning officer. He will report to Shripad Kulkarni, chief executive officer, Percept Allied Media.

In his new role, Raman will be responsible for creating differentiated strategic media solutions for clients. These solutions will be sourced from research and consumer insights undertaken by him and his team.

Raman tells afaqs! that he is ready to take on the challenge and is excited to work with a very young team at Percept Media. "Percept Media has successfully created a robust business model in a very short span of time and is the market leader today in the media spectrum. I aim to take Allied Media into the next orbit."

Raman will also lead Percept Media's strategic alliance with Pointlogic, which was announced recently. He will be responsible for overseeing the integrated intelligence services offered under this association for marketers in India. The service encompasses custom research, analytics, expertise, media data and customised software to deliver better RoI (return on investments) for marketers.

An MMS graduate from Mumbai University, Raman has spent close to 20 years in the media industry in developing communication and media strategies for brands. Spending his formative years in strategic planning in Enterprise and Nexus Equity, he joined Mudra Communications as media group head, wherein he spent seven years. He then moved on to Starcom MediaVest as business director, where he spent close to six years. He quit the organisation as general manager, research and strategy.

On the new appointment, Kulkarni says, "Raman's varied background across critical branding portfolios will add tremendous value to Percept Media, which is a young company growing at a breakneck speed. Raman is the best person to take forward our exclusive tie-up with Pointlogic."
