Vizeum India wins media mandate for MTV India

Vizeum India has expanded its mandate within Viacom 18. It will now handle MTV's media planning and execution across electronic, print and online media.

After recently roping in Nickelodeon, Vizeum India, the second media agency of Aegis Group has been appointed as the media agency for MTV India. In addition to media buying and planning, Vizeum will also support MTV India's digital and marketing initiatives.

The business win is estimated to be around Rs 10 crore. This appointment is in line with the channel's aggressive growth plans for the coming years.

Vizeum India is planning a 360 degree engagement for their new account. Digital will play a big role in the new strategy for MTV India. This business will be handled out of their Mumbai office.

Taking on the new responsibility, S Yesudas, managing director, Indian sub-continent, Vizeum, tells afaqs!, "There will be no lead media. The media mix will be a blend of different channels of communication. Youth as a consumer is a media flirt. We will be looking at exploring digital, mobile, youth hangouts besides using the traditional media such as television and print."

Confirming the appointment of Vizeum India, Aditya Swamy, channel head, MTV India, says, "Our audience is everywhere and yet nowhere, and to catch them we need to use non-traditional techniques and constantly innovate with new media and platforms. The team at Vizeum shares the hunger to experiment and its approach to media planning is very fresh and driven by a keen sense of consumer understanding."
