Big FM ropes in John Manavalan as station head, Mumbai

Manavalan's responsibility will involve managing the running of the station and revenue generation.

Big FM, a part of Reliance Broadcast Network, has appointed John Manavalan as station head for its Mumbai branch. He will report to Siddharth Bharadwaj, national head, sales, radio business, Reliance Broadcast Network.

Manavalan's mandate will involve managing the running of the station. He will also be responsible for revenue generation for the station.

Earlier, Manavalan was with Tata Teleservices, where he was head, business development, western region (SME business).

In an official communiqué, Bharadwaj says, "Manavalan's track record and ability to cull consumer insights, while keeping in mind the marketer's requirements, will help us to grow our business."

Manavalan has more than 13 years of experience in marketing and business development.

He has worked with various organisations such as Godrej Properties, Xerox, Tata Teleservices and Fever 104 FM. He was part of the team that launched the Tata Indicom prepaid and post-paid services in Mumbai. He was also a part of Tata Docomo's launch team in the enterprise and small and medium enterprises (SME) segment in Mumbai, and the rest of Maharashtra.

As part of the team that launched Fever 104 FM in the western region, he played an instrumental role in establishing the station in the region.
