Ashish Sehgal is network sales head for ZEEL's broadcast arm

As reported by afaqs!, Joy Chakraborthy, executive director, revenue and niche channels, ZEEL, quit the company to join TV Today Network. Sehgal takes over the mandate for the broadcast business from Chakraborthy.

Ashish Sehgal has been promoted as network sales head, broadcast business, at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL). He shall handle the responsibility, that until recently, lay with Joy Chakraborthy. As reported by afaqs! earlier, Chakraborthy, executive director, revenue and niche channels, ZEEL, joined TV Today Network as chief executive officer.

However, unlike Chakraborthy, who handled both print and broadcast at ZEEL, Sehgal will not be responsible for the print business (DNA); he will take care of the broadcast part. Meanwhile, Jitesh Rajdeo will continue to take care of the group's print arm as revenue head, ad sales.

After graduation, Sehgal began his career in broadcast media with Times FM in the ad sales department. He was a part of the core team that set up the group's radio channel in 1994.

His next job was with Univista TV (a joint venture between Lalit Modi's Modi Entertainment and Disney), where he was a part of ad sales for five years. This was his first stint with a television channel.

Subsequently, he joined STAR Gold as head, North region. In his final year at STAR, he was national head, India, STAR Gold.

In 2006, he joined ZEE TV as branch head, North, for the entire bouquet of channels.
