Reliance Broadcast appoints Madhukar Pandey as business head, central India cluster

Earlier, Pandey was general manager at MetLife Insurance. At RBNL, he will be responsible for the overall functioning of the businesses in the central India region, including marketing and sales.

Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) has appointed Madhukar Pandey as business head for the central India cluster covering Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. The cluster includes Big Magic and Big FM's network of 11 stations. He will report to Anand Chakravarthy, executive vice-president, marketing, Big Magic, RBNL.

Earlier, Pandey was general manager (regional head) at MetLife Insurance.

Chakravarthy says, "Pandey will lead Big Magic and Big FM's operations in the highly competitive and growing central Indian market."

In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall functioning of the businesses in the region, in functions that range from marketing and sales to overseeing product development and implementation of plans.

Pandey, who is a computer applications graduate from the Lucknow Christian PG College and holds a PGDBA, has about 14 years of experience in areas such as life insurance and information technology.

He started his career in IT education and served organisations such as NIIT, CMC and Informatics in various capacities. Later, he made a transition into the life insurance space and spent more than seven years working with leading insurers such as ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, HDFC Standard Life and MetLife Insurance.

He joined ICICI Prudential Life Insurance as unit manager and was later promoted as sales manager. He then moved to HDFC Standard Life as branch manager. At HDFC, he was promoted as territory manager and set up offices for the organisation in seven districts across the state.

Pandey was instrumental in helping MetLife Insurance establish its business. His responsibility included hiring associates, setting up offices and establishing compliance, ethics, business practices and processes in UP from scratch.
