Cheil WW SW Asia wins creative and digital mandate for Delhi Daredevils

The agency won the account post a multi-agency pitch held between 12 agencies.

Cheil WW SW Asia has been awarded the creative and digital mandate for Delhi Daredevils, the GMR Sports owned IPL (Indian Premier League) team. The pitch, which was held two weeks back, saw 11 other agencies also present their creative and digital expertise.

The creative mandate for the Delhi IPL team was previously held by Leo Burnett.

Confirming the news, Alok Agrawal, COO, Cheil WW SW Asia, says, "The challenge is to build a unique brand loyalty for Delhi Daredevils and make it a powerful fan motivator. Our approach centered around engaging the fan base online and on ground."

Speaking about the reasons for appointing Cheil WW SW Asia as Delhi Daredevils' creative communication partner, Amrit Mathur, vice-president, head operations, GMR Sports, says, "Cheil's understanding of the team's ideas and passion resonated the next level of thought required for brand engagement and fan loyalty. Cheil WW SW Asia plans to come up with an integrated campaign across various mediums to ensure maximum levels of engagement. The agency has prior experience in sports marketing the world over, which includes clients such as the Olympic Games and the Chelsea Football Club.
