GEC Watch: Star Plus continues to rule the roost

Star Plus owns the top four slots in the list of the 10 most-watched programmes on Hindi GECs in Week 5.

GEC flock leader Star Plus has garnered 309 GRPs, up from previous week's 306 GRPs. Its relative channel share has climbed up from 22.8 per cent to 23.9 per cent in the current week.

As per the latest data from TAM (C&S 4+, HSM), Sony and Colors, at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, have seen drops in their GRPs by 20 and 26 points. Sony has slipped from 237 GRPs in the previous week (Week 4) to 217 GRPs for the week ended February 4. The relative share of the channel has also seen a fall from 17.6 per cent to 16.7 per cent.

At No. 3, Colors has come down from 230 GRPs to 204 GRPs this week. Its channel share has seen a significant drop from 17.2 per cent to 15.7 per cent in the current week.

Zee continues to be at No. 4, with an increase in its ratings from 172 GRPs to 179 GRPs in Week 5. The relative market share has also seen a rise from 12.8 per cent to 13.8 per cent.

SAB TV, at No. 5, has garnered 133 GRPs, up from last week's 132 GRPs. There has been a noticeable increase in the relative share of the channel from 9.8 per cent to 10.3 per cent in the current week.

Life OK, at No. 6, has further fallen in its ratings for the third consecutive week. The channel's GRPs have fallen from 85 GRPs to 83 GRPs, while its relative share is 6.4 per cent, up from previous week's 6.3 per cent.

Imagine TV is at No. 7 with a share of 4.3 per cent, as compared to the 4.5 per cent that it had registered in the previous week; it has garnered 55 GRPs, down from the 61 GRPs that it had garnered in Week 4.

Sahara One is at No. 8, with a 3.7 per cent channel share, as compared to 3.3 per cent in the previous week. Its GRP stands at 48, up from the 45 GRPs that it had garnered in the previous week.

STAR Utsav, at No. 9, has gathered 36 GRPs compared to 37 GRPs in the previous week, while its share remained constant at 2.8 per cent.

DD1, with 1.8 per cent share and 23 GRPs, is at No. 10. Zee Smile follows next with 8 GRPs, and 0.6 per cent channel share.

Star Plus owns the top four slots out of the 10 most-watched programmes on Hindi GECs in Week 5. Saathiya Saath Nibhana leads the Top 10 list, with a TVR of 6.21. This is followed by other three STAR shows, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (6.18 TVR), Diya Aur Baati Hum (6.1 TVR), and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (4.7 TVR).

Next on the list stands CID (Sony) as the fifth most-watched programme with 4.15 TVR. Colors' Uttaran and BalikaVadu occupy the sixth and seventh positions with 4.04 TVR and 3.95 TVR, respectively. Crime Patrol (3.93 TVR), Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (3.90 TVR), and Pavitra Rishta (3.6 TVR) are also a part of the Top 10 list.
