Saevus will be available on stands and specialty bookstores from March, 2012/02. The editorial team comprises Sree Nandy (editor-in-chief), Sandeep Mall (managing partner), Santanu Nandy (publisher) and Dhrotiman Mukherjee (head, photography). The magazine will be available once in two months. The publishers also plan to tie up with book retail chains in India very soon.

Commemorating the launch of the magazine, Mall says, "Saevus is a premium wildlife magazine and it aims to offer its readers the side of wildlife and nature they have never been exposed to."

Sharing her views, Nandy says, "I am truly ecstatic and sure that Saevus will serve as more than just a wildlife and nature magazine. It will get one closer to a life that is beyond imagination and surreal. We have on board the best of wildlife and nature photographers, and an editorial team whose passion is nature and everything related to it. I am very hopeful that the response will be tremendous and our endeavour will be to offer the best in natural history."

The magazine was launched at Little Rann of Kutch. A two-day launch event saw sessions by eminent guests such as Satya Kumar, professor, Wildlife Institute of India; Sandesh Kadur, an eminent wildlife photographer; and Subrata Dutta, managing director, Samsonite, South Asia. The focus of the sessions was wildlife photography tips, filming wildlife, mountaineering, wildlife conservation and the association of Samsonite with Saevus.

Samsonite is known to have an exclusive association with Saevus. The travel product maker's association with the magazine is a part of its CSR initiative to promote wildlife and natural history.

About 5,000 copies of the magazine were printed for the launch issue. Currently, there are advertisers such as Samsonite, Taj and Toehold on board. On an average, the magazine will have about 92 pages, of which 20-30 pages will be dedicated to advertising, while the rest will be devoted to content. IBH Books & Magazines Distributors is managing the all India distribution for the magazine.
