Amar Ujala ropes in Akshay Jain as GM and business head for Touch Point

His responsibility will be to build the brand activation wing of Amar Ujala.

The Amar Ujala Group has announced the appointment of Akshay Jain as business head and general manager for its recently launched brand activations division, Touch Point, with immediate effect.

He moves in from the Daink Bhaskar Group, where he was assistant general manager, corporate, brand and product visibility. He has been associated with the group for nine years.

In his new role, Jain will be based in Noida and will report to Sunil Mutreja, executive director, Amar Ujala Group.

Jain has more than 12 years of experience in the field of public relations, franchisee development, brand communications and brand activations with companies such as Ogilvy PR, Egmont India and Dainik Bhaskar Group. He has also played an important role in the launch of 17 FM stations of My FM, the radio offering of the DB Group in a span of two years.

Talking about his new role, Jain says, "I am quite delighted to take this challenge to establish AU Touch Point on the right path. This market is in its growing stage; it still has a lot of potential and opportunities to be explored. My focus will be to build new and alternative business opportunities for the clients and do more than just plain activations for them."

Touch Point, the year-old vertical of Amar Ujala, aims to strengthen and expand its business horizons and bank on the existing market strength of Amar Ujala in North India. Touch Point was launched with a mission of 'Minimising gap and maximising reach'.
