US-based social networking site for entrepreneurs EFactor is all set to launch its India operations. The social networking site for entrepreneurs will be launched formally in April.

EFactor provides entrepreneurs a platform to exchange ideas with experts, interact with potential partners or clients, and discover funding for their start ups.

The portal, which claims to have more than 1 million users in 185 countries, was founded by serial entrepreneur Adrie Reinders, along with Marion Freijsen and Roeland Reinders, in 2008.

As part of the launch, the San Francisco-based company has brought on board Nitesh Chandra as country manager. It is currently putting together the India team.

Commenting on the launch in India, Reinders, CEO and co-founder, EFactor, says, "The Indian market is ripe with growth opportunities and offers an environment of eager entrepreneurs who are looking for the tools and information they need to succeed."

EFactor India will launch a series of activities and initiatives to generate increased online and offline networking opportunities to help local entrepreneurs have access to a greater network of experts, advisors, potential clients, talent and funding sources. Commenting on the focus areas for India, Chandra says, "Our focus will be on entrepreneurs, small and medium sized businesses and start ups that we can guide for setting up and strengthening their business. We aim to provide India-specific solutions."

EFactor will develop and launch initiatives directed at the entrepreneurial community in India. These will include both an online community, including resources, knowledge and social networking, and offline events and meet-ups designed to bring more entrepreneurs together in India. These initiatives will be designed to provide additional opportunities to connect with potential partners, investors, vendors, mentors and team members on a local and global platform.
