Cheil Worldwide SW Asia has taken on board Vivek Dutta as vice-president, planning. Earlier, Dutta was vice-president and national planning head, Hakuhodo Percept. His stint at Hakuhodo lasted for about five years.
Dutta says that he plans to position Cheil as a credible marketing partner for its clients and contribute in the growth of the company. He adds, "The intention of the agency is to develop the organisation as a source of market intelligence powerhouse. I intend to work forward to create a proprietary model for planning for the clients."
In an official communiqué, Alok Agrawal, COO, Cheil Worldwide SW Asia, says, "Vivek has the right credentials to provide the required momentum in the planning function. His experience across diverse categories, from automotive and consumer electronics to health, lifestyle and sports, and social development, makes him a perfect choice as a seasoned partner for the Cheil India team."
Dutta has about 15 years of experience in branding, sales, marketing and planning, out of which five years have been spent in the planning function at Hakuhodo Percept, his erstwhile employer.
After completing post graduation in marketing from the University of Madras in 1997, he started his career with Cadbury's in sales and worked there for less than a year. Through his career, he has worked for Dainik Bhaskar, LNJ Bhilwara Group (Mayur Suitings), Mahindra & Mahindra and JWT, too, for a short span of time.
