Mahindra Retail launches Mother's World magazine

The flagship brand of Mahindra Retail, Mom & Me, has entered into publishing with the launch of a maternity magazine.

The maternity retail outlet of Mahindra Retail, Mom & Me, has entered into the publishing space with the launch of its first maternity magazine, titled Mother's World. The quarterly offering is a subscription-based title that will provide information, assistance, tips and guidance for early parenthood as well as soon-to-be parents.

The magazine was launched on Mother's Day (May 13) and has a cover price of Rs 100. It will be available on newsstands across the country.

The core target audience for the magazine is similar to that of the brand, Mom & Me - mothers-to-be and young mothers with children up to the age of 5 years.

In an official communiqué, K Venkatraman, CEO, Mahindra Retail, says, "Today's mothers are highly involved decision makers and look deeply into every aspect of their babies' well being. The launch of the magazine marks our commitment to consumer-centric initiatives, and we hope this magazine will be a perfect companion for parents."

The inaugural issue of the magazine has interviews of three celebrity moms - Sonali Kulkarni, Tara Sharma and Mandira Bedi -- about their experiences of motherhood. The content of the new offering will include a mix of stories, features, tips and advice from real parents who share their experiences, besides tips on fashion trends in maternity wear. The magazine has been divided into sections covering various aspects of parenthood including conception, infancy, toddler years and relationships. It also has a section on lifestyle and fashion.

Mother's World magazine will look at a serious approach to parenting, as well as a light-hearted side with tips, tweets and fun facts about pregnancy on most of the pages. It will also feature products available at Mom & Me stores.

The magazine has an expert panel consisting of a neonatologist, paediatrician, gynaecologist, obstetrician, prenatal and postnatal fitness expert, yoga therapist, reiki expert, nutritionist, childbirth educator and counsellor, health coach and wellness expert.

On an average, the magazine will have 120-140 pages per issue. Talking about the magazine, Srividya Sen, editor, Mother's World says that it will be available on the newsstands for sale and will use the traditional method of distribution, apart from being available at Mom & Me stores across the country.

For the record, Mom & Me is the chain of stores from Mahindra Retail which caters to the needs of mothers to be, young mothers, infants and children up to the age of nine. The retail brand has 77 stores in 27 cities including Delhi, Haryana, Ghaziabad, Noida, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore, Bengaluru, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mangalore, Dehradun, Raipur, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Kozhikode and Coimbatore.
