Ormax Media, the media research and consulting firm, has roped in Paritosh Joshi as strategic advisor.
As part of the new mandate, Joshi, in his advisory role, will engage with the research and business teams at Ormax Media across various aspects of its work.
Shailesh Kapoor, CEO, Ormax Media, says in an official statement, "I am happy to announce that Paritosh has accepted our invitation to take up the role of strategic advisor at Ormax Media. With his experience in the media business, as well as his close involvement in several industry initiatives, he will bring a unique and fresh perspective to the table, that will help us, and by implication, our valuable business partners' community."
Joshi adds, "Ormax Media is doing some path-breaking work in developing new metrics altogether for television and film industries. I have a deep interest in audience measurement, and this engagement is another way of delving into this vast landscape even as I get to work alongside Shailesh and his team."
An IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, Joshi joined the STAR TV network in August 2005 as president, advertising sales and distribution. Later, in 2009, Joshi went on to become the chief executive officer at STAR CJ Network India, the joint venture of STAR Television and South Korea's CJ O Shopping.
Joshi began his career in 1985 as product executive with Procter & Gamble (then Richardson Hindustan Limited) and after a five-year stint with the company, went on to become product manager.
Meanwhile, Joshi continues to be mentor at MentorEdge (mentoredge.com) and member of the board of governors of the Media Research Users Council (MRUC). He also heads the IRS technical committee at the MRUC and is director, Indian Broadcasting Foundation.
