Gupta joins the agency as chief value officer.
Rajendra Gupta has joined Mogae Media as chief value officer. Earlier, Gupta was vice-president, Global Enterprise Business at Reliance Communications. Gupta will be based at Mogae's Gurgaon headquarters.
Commenting on his new role, Gupta says, "Moving to Mogae is like homecoming. I have worked with Sandeep Goyal for many years and his new venture really excited me. So here I am."
Gupta, who has over 25 years of experience, is an engineer from BHU-IT and an MBA from FMS-Delhi. He started his career at Dunlop, where he worked across different geographies. He then moved on to Wipro. In 1994, Gupta moved to advertising and joined Rediffusion DY&R as national head of business development. At Rediff, he got the chance to work on Airtel and was instrumental in its launch.
Gupta stayed at Rediffusion DY&R till 2001, helping win businesses as diverse as Atlas Cycles, Singer, BPL, HFCL, BPL Mobile, Sony Ericsson, LIC and Tata Tea, amongst others.
He joined Reliance Communication in 2001 and spent the last 10 years there in a broad variety of functions.
Commenting on the new appointment, Tanya Goyal, director, Mogae Media, says, "Guptaji (as he is popularly called) is a veteran of both mobile and advertising. It is a rare combination. And that is what makes him a really valuable asset on any team."
