Sony to celebrate 'Life of India' on Independence Day

On Independence Day, 15 participants from each of the 24 schools will go out and capture the Life of India and upload their pictures on Sony India's Facebook page.

To celebrate the spirit of Independence Day, Sony India has launched a national youth engagement activity, '24 Cameras.24 hours.24 Schools'. The activity will offer photography enthusiasts in 24 schools across India an opportunity to use Sony Alpha cameras to capture the 'Life of India' on Independence Day.

As a part of the activation, on August 15, at least 15 participants from each school will go out and capture snapshots of 'Life of India' and upload their pictures on Sony India's Facebook page (
). Once all the pictures are uploaded, voting for the best picture from each school will start from August 16 and continue till August 20. All Sony India Facebook page fans can cast their vote by pressing the Like button for their favourite picture. The pictures with maximum Likes from each of the 24 schools, along with Sony's internal jury, will select 24 winners and each of them will be gifted Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.

Some participating schools include Xavier Institute of Communications and The Shari Academy in Mumbai; Mahesh Hariani's Photography Classes, National Institute of Creative Communication, Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology and Bengaluru School of Art & Photography in Bengaluru; The Indian Institute of Digital Art and Animation in Kolkata; Kala Bhumi Institute of Fine Arts in Delhi; International Media Institute in Gurgaon; Lighthouse Institute for Modern Day Careers in Indore; Camshot Academy in Pune; Visualite Photography Academy in Chennai and Chetna Media Institute in Thrissur.

Ryusuke Fukushima, deputy general manager, marketing communications, Sony India, says, "Sony's Independence Day campaign theme, Life of India in 24 hours, lets students have an experience of Sony Alpha cameras and showcases what independence means to them through their photographs. With this campaign, we also create awareness about Sony Alpha cameras among photography students and foster the next generation of pro-Alpha camera users."
