SMG Digital has launched a social media monitoring and engagement platform, SMG SocioAnalytics ( The product has been launched in association with social media management infrastructure firm, Simplify360.

SocioAnalytics is a combination of media monitoring and social profile management. It crawls user-generated content sites, which includes social networks, forums and news, and provides value added analytics on top of the data. The analytics is powered by Simplify360 Big Data Analytics capability, and can analyse millions of messages in real time. Some of the value added analytics include finding age, gender and location of a person from the message posted in forums or social networks.

This initiative marks a strong entry of the Starcom MediaVest Group into the social media space. The initiative is led by Arnab Mitra, director. Commenting on the launch, Mitra says, "Social media revolution is big.
