Louis Philippe, the premium apparel brand from Madura Garments, has awarded its creative business to JWT.
JWT Bengaluru already handles the creative duties for another brand from Madura Garments, namely, Van Heusen (including its sub-brands Van Heusen for women and the club wear offering, 'V.'), for over a decade.
The development is a part of the parent brand's efforts to consolidate the creative duties of both these offerings (Van Heusen and Louis Philippe) from Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (also known as MFL) with one single agency.
The development is the result of a multi-agency pitch process that was held in Bengaluru recently. JWT's strategic inputs and perspective on the brand's positioning in the competitive premium branded apparel market helped it clinch this win.
Colvyn Harris, chief executive officer, JWT India, says in a press note, "This win deepens our relationship with one of our most admired clients and is testimony to the confidence it has in JWT. We are very proud of this win."
Contract Advertising Bengaluru has been involved with the creative duties of Louis Philippe in the recent past.
Louis Philippe is the flagship brand of the MFL portfolio and operates at the premium end of the market. The brand first advertised on television in 2000. Created by Ogilvy Bengaluru at the time, the television commercial was high on drama and had a 'Hollywood' feel to it. The film even managed to convey the brand's 'premiumness' with the catch phrase, 'Out of reach of lesser men'. The brand has been positioned as one meant for those who are a notch above the rest in terms of style, fashion and attitude.
Some of the names on JWT Bengaluru's roster of brands include Nike, Kingfisher, Lifestyle and Denizen (from Levi's), among others.
