Viacom 18's VH1 scouts for creative agency in Mumbai

Viacom18's music and entertainment channel VH1 is on the lookout for a creative agency. Initial level talks are on with various Mumbai-based creative agencies.


Sources close to the development have confirmed the news to afaqs! on the condition of anonymity. When contacted, Ferzad Palia, senior vice-president and general manager, English entertainment, Viacom18 refused to throw any further light on the matter.

The size of the business and the annual spend on the media could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

VH1 India is like a sister channel to MTV India. In India, VH1 is a 24-hour pay channel and caters to the youth in the age group of 13-35 years. The primary focus of the channel is on international genres of music.

Viacom18 is a 50:50 joint venture operation in India between Viacom Inc and the Network18 Group. It has interests in television, internet, filmed entertainment, mobile content and allied businesses.

VH1 India is one of the six channels from Viacom18 Media, the other five being MTV, Nickelodeon, Colors, Sonic and Comedy Central.
