Third Olive Crown Awards scheduled for March, 2013

The awards recognise the best eco-sensitive communication that creates awareness for conservation of planet Earth.

The India Chapter of International Advertising Association (IAA) has announced the Third Olive Crown Awards. The ceremony will be held in March, 2013 in Mumbai.

According to Srinivasan Swamy, president of the India Chapter of IAA, the participation for the awards, which were launched at the Goafest in 2011, has scaled up. "Lately, there has been widespread acceptance for these awards," he says, and adds how corporate entities see the green message as a key differentiator in a competitive environment.

As in the earlier years, 9X Media will be the principal sponsor for the awards.

Speaking about the long association with the awards ceremony, Pradeep Guha, CEO, 9X Media, says "The Olive Crown awards are not just a salute to creativity in the green space; they are a measure of the advertising industry's seriousness to get the green message on top of the strategic agenda."

Advertisements that were published or released in calendar year 2012 will be eligible for entry. The awards will start receiving entries from January 1, 2013 and will culminate in the presentation ceremony in March, 2011. There is no entry fee for participation.

In the second edition of the awards held in February, 2012, Webchutney and JWT India emerged as winners. Nokia was adjudged the Green Advertiser of the Year, while Ogilvy India bagged the Campaign of the Year.

Earlier, in 2011, when Goafest hosted the first Olive Crown Awards, Dentsu had bagged the maximum awards, followed by Mudra Communications and Umbrella Design.
