The McCann WorldGroup executive chairman and CEO is the first Indian to become editor of the 13-year-old report.
McCann Erickson's Prasoon Joshi has become the first Indian to don the role of the editor for The Gunn Report. A member of the Global Creative Council, he narrowed on the most awarded campaigns and people behind them, which were highlighted in the report.
Noting his experience while going through various campaigns, Joshi mentions in his introductory comment about Samudra Manthan. He compares the best works that come out of the entire sifting process to the gems that emerged while the gods in Hindu mythology churned the oceans. Joshi was also part of the final selections that went in 'The Showreel of The Year' book.
Gunn Report's first edition came out in 1999 and provides an authoritative analysis of advertising campaigns done around the world. It also republishes findings that earn mention in industry journals and mainstream newspapers. Some of the previous editors of The Gunn Report include Mark Tutssel, chief creative officer, worldwide for Leo Burnett; Rémi Babinet, chief creative officer of Euro RSCG Worldwide; and Howard Draft, founder and chief executive chairman of Draftfcb, among others.
