GEC Watch: Star Plus, Sony and Life OK gain GRPs

Despite two of its shows on the second rank, Colors loses as much as 27 GRPs in Week 11.

Star Plus, the No. 1 GEC (general entertainment channel), has marginally increased its numbers from 272 GRPs in Week 10 to 273 points in the week ended March 16. As per TAM data provided by subscribers (C&S 4+, HSM), seven of Star's shows have been listed in the most watched list, along with the newcomer, Saraswatichandra (3.3 TVRs).

Meanwhile, Zee TV has remained at No. 2, despite loss in the numbers from 215 GRPs (Week 10) to 202 GRPs (Week 11). Three shows from the channel's stable have remained in the top shows' list.

At No. 3, Viacom18's Colors has lost as much as 27 points in Week 11, to gain 187 points in the current week. Four of Colors' shows have found a place in the most watched shows list.

Sony, at No. 4, has added eight GRPs to end Week 11 with 163 points. After a long time, one of the channel's shows has been able to get into the top shows' list.

Meanwhile, at No. 5, the two sibling GECs of Star Plus and Sony, Life OK and SAB TV, respectively, tie with 135 GRPs. While SAB TV remained stable at 135 from last week, Life OK has gained nine points.

It's been a long time since Life OK's Mahadev featured in the top shows' list; the show is back in the current week. SAB's flagship show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has also maintained itself in the list.

At No. 6, Sahara One has garnered 23 GRPs.

Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) leads the list of the most watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 6, followed by Baalika Vadhu (Colors), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) and Madhubala (Colors) sharing the second spot with 4 TVRs each.

At No. 3, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai (Star Plus) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV) tied up with 3.8 TVRs each. The fourth spot is occupied by Life OK's flagship mythological series, Mahadev, with 3.7 TVRs.

Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana and Zee TV's India's Best Dramebaaz stand at No. 5, each registering 3.4 TVRs. Star Plus' much-hyped (expensive) new property Saraswatichandra has grabbed the sixth rank with 3.3 TVRs.

At No. 7, Zee TV's Qubool Hai and Colors' Sasuaral Genda Phool gathered 3.1 TVRs each. The eighth spot is shared by three shows, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (Zee TV), Veera (Star Plus) and Uttaran (Colors) with 3 TVRs each.

Crime Patrol and Nach Baliye take the ninth and tenth spots with 2.9 and 2.7 TVRs, respectively.
