Jagran launches Devalaya Jharkhand

The coffee table book on the temples of Jharkhand is the second in the Devalaya series. The first one was on the temples of Bihar.

Jagran Prakashan recently launched its sixth coffee table book, Devalaya Jharkhand, at a ceremony in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The book provides information on the temples of Jharkhand. A specially complied CD offering a collection of bhajans also comes attached with the book.

This is the second offering in the Devalaya series. The first one was launched in November, 2012 and is based on the temples of Bihar.

The book explores the glorious history and contemporary significance of 67 temples in Jharkhand through exclusive pictures and narratives. It will serve as a reference material for the people who are inclined to know about the religious/spiritual past of Jharkhand. It also contains inputs from renowned experts on temples. The publisher claims that the book shall find resonance with both national and international religious enthusiasts.

Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji, heir of Shankaracharya, Jyotish Peeth unveiled the book. On the occasion, he said, "Devalaya Jharkhand is slated to represent the spiritual emotions of the state which is known for its religious lineage since ancient times. It not only documents a shared holy vision but also gives reason to feel proud of the religious inheritance."

Also present at the launch were Arjun Munda, ex CM, Jharkhand; Anand Tripathi, chief general manager, Dainik Jagran, Bihar and Jharkhand; Anand Madhab, associate vice-president, marketing, Jagran Prakashan Limited; Shailendra Dixit, state head, editorial, Bihar; Kamlesh Raghuvanshi, state head, editorial, Jharkhand and other prominent figures of the Jagran Group.

The book is conceptualised and authored by Anand Madhab and Sharmishtha Sharma, associate editor, iNext. Madhab says, "Devalaya Jharkhand is not only a tribute to the religious ethos of Jharkhand but it also introduces the devotional facet of the state to a larger chunk of people in and outside the country. We expect large acceptability of the book in this part of the country."

Devalaya Jharkhand shall be succeeded by similar books on the temples of UP and on the dargahs of Bihar.
