While the 11th edition of Portfolio Night went off well for the 90 participants who were eager to show their collection of work, one of them was lucky to be chosen as the 'All Star' winner from the Mumbai leg. Chaitanya Joshi, a gold medallist from MICA, Ahmedabad, and currently working with Draftfcb Ulka, has been declared as the 'All Star' winner of Portfolio Night 11 and will represent the host city at the Portfolio Night All Stars Creative Challenge to be held at New York City in August.
It may be noted that in March, Ford was in a storm of controversy over its Figo commercials, the creatives of which were executed by JWT India. The controversial commercials went viral and had a cascading effect on Ford's global reputation. The brand as well as the agency issued public apologies and the issue cost the jobs of JWT India's chief creative officer and an official from Ford.
Portfolio Night, which started in Canada, acts as a platform for aspiring creatives to meet creative directors from the advertising world for advice, suggestions and networking over the course of one night. The event is held simultaneously in multiple cities, with an advertising agency playing host for each city. This year, apart from Mumbai, Portfolio Night was held in Delhi for the first time, which was hosted by Leo Burnett.
