Srinivasan Swamy, chairman and managing director of R K Swamy BBDO, has been elected as vice-president, development of International Advertising Association for the Asia Pacific region. He is also the president of IAA India chapter, appointed in November, 2012 for 2012-13.
The announcements were made on June 18 by Faris Abouhamad, IAA World chairman and president, who took office in January.
Abouhamad says, "Our association, in its 75th anniversary year, will benefit from the energy and talents of IAA leadership drawn from virtually every part of the world. I am especially pleased and excited to have such able colleagues as the IAA charts its future. I cannot imagine a better or more capable team to embrace and deliver on the IAA's plans and initiatives."
The other individuals elected were Felix Tataru (COO at GMP Romania) as SVP; Glenn Hansen (president and CEO of BPA Worldwide, USA as treasurer; Erich Buxbaum, managing director of EHB Consulting GmbH, Austria, as secretary; Jill Cohen as vice-president and area director, US/Canada; Saad El Zein, VP and area director, West Asia/Africa; Pawel Kowalewski as VP president and area director, Europe; Michael Lee as IAA managing director; Carla Michelotti as vice-president , corporate members and government affairs; Naji Boulos as VP, government relations, West Asia/North Africa; Norkor Duah as VP, development, Africa; Hani Ghorayeb as VP, development, West Asia/North Africa; Heather Leembruggen as, VP, 75th anniversary and special events; and Diane Slade as VP, learning.
For the record, the International Advertising Association is a marketing communications organisation founded in 1938. It is a strategic partnership that addresses the common interests of all the disciplines across the full spectrum of marketing communications, from advertisers and media companies to agencies and direct marketing firms, as well as individual practitioners.
The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IC-IAA) was incorporated in July 1991, to constitute a local chapter of the global body, with a view to provide members direct links to the international advertising and communications industry.
