Cheil Worldwide SW Asia expands its team

The creative agency has roped in Anupama Ramaswamy and Simran Sahni as group creative directors.

Cheil Worldwide SW Asia has roped in Simran Sahni and Anupama Ramaswamy as group creative directors. Both, with 13 years of experience each, move in from JWT and will report to Nima D T Namchu, creative head and executive creative director. They will operate from New Delhi.

Recently, the agency also appointed Navin Theeng and Somenath Chakraborty, who moved in from Contract Advertising as group creative director and senior creative director, respectively. On the digital front, the agency appointed Shveta Singh of Euro RSCG, to join as senior planning director and Siddhartha Deshaprabhu of, a direct-2-consumer ecommerce footwear e-tailing brand, to join as general manager, digital advertising and media.

The creative teams report to Namchu, while the digital teams report to Rajesh Bhatia, SVP and head, digital services (digital, CRM, eCommerce).

Ramaswamy was senior creative director at JWT and was working on several accounts such as Nokia, Frito Lays (Lays and Cheetos) and Boost. She was the only Indian selected on the One Show Jury panel to judge the 37th annual One Show, One Show Design and One Show Interactive Awards in 2012.

She has worked with Lowe, Euro RSCG, Rediffusion and Mudra. During her career, she has worked for brands such as LG Refrigerators & IT, Dabur Real (new launch and film), Dabur Honey, Government of India, Revlon, Maruti and others.

Her work has won her numerous accolades that include a gold at Cannes (2010), silver at Abby (2010), Abby bronze in 2010, and others.

Sahni, on the other hand, was also the senior creative director and was working on accounts such as Nokia, PepsiCo (Lays and Boost). She has worked with Bates, Lowe and Wunderman Cato Johnson. During her career, she has worked for brands such as Times Property, Emaar, Dabur, Joyco and others.

Her work has also been recognised at both national and international festivals such as Cannes, Abbys and others.

Cheil, on its 40th anniversary, had launched its new corporate identity and slogan 'Ideas that move'. It is a four decade old company headquartered in Korea with 57 offices in 32 countries and revenues close to USD 600 million. It employs more than 4,000 people and has been felicitated at several award functions such as Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia, CLIO and others.

Cheil set up the agency office in India in 2003. It offers services in innovative communication strategies through full-service advertising capabilities and shopper marketing, experiential retail design, PR, sports marketing, and special events.
