In a leadership restructuring, BBH India has appointed Arvind Krishnan, who was team director at the agency's London office, as its managing director. Krishnan will report to Subhash Kamath, CEO and managing partner, BBH India.

afaqs! had reported in May that Partha Sinha, one of the three managing partners at BBH India, had exited the agency to join Publicis Worldwide as director and chief strategy officer, South Asia. Around the time, BBH announced the appointment of Sanjay Sharma, then senior strategy director, as the agency's new planning head.

With this new addition, BBH's new core leadership team comprises Kamath; Russell Barrett, chief creative officer and managing partner; Sanjay Sharma, head of planning; Puneet Kapoor, executive creative director; and Rishit Mehta, finance director.

Speaking about the new appointment, Kamath says, "Russell and I are delighted that Arvind will be returning to us. He was one of our first recruits at BBH India and has been an outstanding star in the company. He brings a huge amount of drive and passion to the team here, combined with the valuable experience he's gained during his tenure at BBH London. We have no doubt that both our people and our clients will benefit greatly from his leadership."

Praising Krishnan's performance at the agency, Gwyn Jones, global CEO says that it is great for the agency to be able to grow management from within and also develop talent for the future by moving from office to office in this manner.

Commenting on his new role, Krishnan says, "It's great to be back. It's been a fantastic experience working on global brands and helping them navigate through different markets. It has taught me the value of simplicity. Simplicity, that allows ideas to stretch and flex across geographies. The opportunity to apply this and create market-moving work at home is exciting and I'm thrilled at the prospect of working with the team in Mumbai again."

Krishnan has been with BBH since early 2009. He was part of the founding team of the agency's India operations. In May, 2012, he relocated to the agency's London office. During his stint at the BBH London, Krishnan handled brands such as Unilever and Diageo. He has also worked with Leo Burnett and Allsec Technologies.

Krishnan is an alumnus of MICA, Ahmedabad.

BBH India was set up in 2009 and has brands like Marico, Unilever, Diageo, Skoda, Red Bull and Acer among its varied client portfolio. The agency has strength of 70 people.
