Viral Now: After Ever After

The video takes off from where Walt Disney's films left the story, and offers alternative endings to the common fairy tales.

Disney's animated films and series featuring princesses such as Ariel (Little Mermaid), Jasmine (Arabian Nights), Belle (Beauty and the Beast) and Pocahontas have captured the imaginations of several generations. By the end of the story, each finds her dream man and lives happily ever after.

Viral Now: After Ever After
Ever wonder what happens after happily ever after? Jon Cozart aka Paint has made an attempt to trace just this and create an interesting parody on these stories.

So, Ariel is left alone and drowning in the ocean, all her friends caught while British Petroleum spills oil to destroy her ecosystem. Jasmine pleads with President Obama to set her Alladin free after the CIA picks him up on charges of terror. Madmen charge Belle with bestiality after she marries the Beast. She runs for fear of being locked up in a prison, while Beast is taken away by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). And, Pocahontas is alone and dying too, after John Smith returns to London and the French, Spanish and English invade and attack her country.

The video steals importance because of the four Disney characters involved, which have enjoyed widespread popularity across the globe, and also because of the way Cozart has been able to relate the story of these princesses to the current situations of their lands.

Cozart is a 20-year old Houston (USA)-based film student at the University of Texas, who has created videos on Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and others. He works alone and has recorded, directed and scripted this video. Cozart has been making such videos for the last seven years (http://www.youtube.com/user/Paint).

The video was released in March, 2013 and has already garnered more than 16 million views on YouTube.
