Jagran launches seventh coffee table book on shrines of Bihar

The book features more than 55 shrines that hold a special place in the religious canvas of the state.

After launching six coffee table books on entrepreneurs and temples of Jharkhand, Punjab, UP and Bihar, Jagran Prakashan has launched yet another coffee table book, this time on the shrines of Bihar, titled 'Sufiya-e-Bihar'.

Nitish Kumar, chief minister of Bihar, unveiled the book at a formal ceremony in the state in the presence of the senior members of Jagran Publication, including Anand Madhab, AVP, marketing, JPL; Anand Tripathi, CGM, Dainik Jagran (Bihar and Jharkhand); Shailendra Dixit, associate editor, Dainik Jagran, Bihar; and Sharmishtha Sharma, author, Sufiya-e-Bihar and associate editor, i next.

The book features more than 55 shrines that hold a special place in the religious canvas of the state. It focuses on the historical beliefs and legends associated with the khanquahs, dargahs and mazaars and sheds light on their unique features, including architecture and general description of the layout and landscape. Sufiya-e-Bihar also captures the essence of these shrines from the visitors' vantage point, giving a vivid picture of these places of devotional importance in this genre in Bihar.

Sunil Gupta, director, JPL, says, "The book is a tribute to sacred beliefs and legends associated with the holy dargahs. With each one having a special place in the people's heart, this publication would be a custodian of faith as much as it is a collector's delight."

The 148 page book is priced at Rs 1200 and is available on discount at leading retail book stores across the country and also on online selling portals like Flipkart and Infibeam.

Jagran will soon test waters with coffee table books in other domains like hospitality, PSUs (public sector units), environment, corporate profiling and entertainment.
