After launching six coffee table books on entrepreneurs and temples of Jharkhand, Punjab, UP and Bihar, Jagran Prakashan has launched yet another coffee table book, this time on the shrines of Bihar, titled 'Sufiya-e-Bihar'.
The book features more than 55 shrines that hold a special place in the religious canvas of the state. It focuses on the historical beliefs and legends associated with the khanquahs, dargahs and mazaars and sheds light on their unique features, including architecture and general description of the layout and landscape. Sufiya-e-Bihar also captures the essence of these shrines from the visitors' vantage point, giving a vivid picture of these places of devotional importance in this genre in Bihar.
Sunil Gupta, director, JPL, says, "The book is a tribute to sacred beliefs and legends associated with the holy dargahs. With each one having a special place in the people's heart, this publication would be a custodian of faith as much as it is a collector's delight."
The 148 page book is priced at Rs 1200 and is available on discount at leading retail book stores across the country and also on online selling portals like Flipkart and Infibeam.
Alok Sanwal, project head, JCTB and COO, i next, says, "Our endeavour is to bring out books that are different, exotic and relevant. The books such as this and previous others by the Jagran group cater to the spiritual tastes of the people, which are enriching and lasting. We look forward to more such books in the future."
Some of the previous coffee table books that Jagran has launched are Devalaya, Sonar Mahe Jharkhand, Punjab de Navrattan and Jagran Gems UP.
Jagran will soon test waters with coffee table books in other domains like hospitality, PSUs (public sector units), environment, corporate profiling and entertainment.
