Sanjay Shukla, CEO of Percept Activ, has a lot on his plate. Shukla will be taking on an additional role heading Percept and Percept Entertainment from October 7. Shukla, who was earlier the COO of Percept Activ, the brand activation and below-the-line arm of Percept was elevated as the CEO in December last year.
Percept Talent was earlier headed by Hitesh Gosani, while Percept Entertainment was lead by Aditya Motwani.
Shukla is hoping for a greater integration of services provided by Percept Activ, Percept Talent and Percept Entertainment. "Earlier, we had limited synergy as each arm had a different head but now the company felt the need to have a single father," Shukla explains, adding that instead of going to a third party for celebrities or organising an event, the client gets all the services under a single roof.
In his 16 years, Shukla has worked in activation and events, planning, market penetration, account management and business development. He started his career in Wings Brand Activations & Promotions as a business development executive, handling trade fairs in 1995. When he left the company, he was the all India client servicing head. Shukla then joined Percept Sports & Entertainment (earlier known as PDM) as national head - brand activation, which comprised events and activations, in 2007. His profile entailed research and analysis, new business development and technologies in below-the-line activities.
Percept Talent, which was launched 15 years ago, provides service for talent from the entertainment, sports and fashion industry. Some of its clients include Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.
On the other hand, Percept Entertainment concentrates on event management and marketing, especially for individuals and corporates. Some of the events organised by it include the AR Rahman concert, Mrs India Contest and Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.
