As per a 'run' conducted for 'History Channel' in India on the social media, the channel found out that amongst the most commonly used terms were 'Ancient Aliens'. The insight, according to the channel, was interesting because History TV18 found that the latest episodes were being watched and appreciated by many through downloads via Torrent or video clips on YouTube. The proverbial writing was on the wall. 'Ancient Aliens' was quickly introduced post these findings.

The show, a 12-episodic series, will be aired Monday to Friday at 11 pm.

It is an American television series produced by Prometheus Entertainment. It presents hypotheses of ancient astronauts and proposes that historical texts, archaeology and legends contain evidence of past human-extra-terrestrial contact. The series examines 75 million years of the "most credible" alien evidence here on Earth, from the age of the dinosaurs, to ancient Egypt, to the skies over the western desert in the present day USA.

The show is currently in its sixth season in America.

History TV18 has also just launched a six episodic-series called 'Hidden Cities' that is aired every Friday at 9 pm. In the show, along with presenter Anthony Morse, History TV18 traverses through forgotten palaces and temples, abandoned towns and disused underground fortresses. Hidden Cities will take viewers through Beijing in China, the northwest states of Penang, Ipoh and Kedah in Malaysia, Java in Indonesia and to the island of Taiwan.

For the record, History TV18 is the factual entertainment channel launched in 2011. It is a joint venture between Network18 and A+E Networks. It offers content in five different languages in India. Some of its popular shows in India are Bollywood@100, Earth Under Water and The Road Less Travelled. The channel's programming covers a diverse variety of historical genres ranging from contemporary history to core history, technology, natural history as well as science, archaeology and transport.
