GEC Watch: Zee TV, SAB TV gain as others lose numbers in Week 46
Zee TV is the biggest gainer of the week as it added 11837 GVTs to its earlier tally. Star Plus leads the chart with five shows featuring the top 10 shows' list.
Zee Network's flagship Hindi general entertainment channel, Zee TV, is the biggest gainer in Week 46 of TAM. SAB TV and Sahara One also gained in this week as the other Hindi GECs lost eyeballs.
Star Plus continues to lead the Hindi GEC flock with 529193 GVTs (last week 536270 GVTs). Five of its shows have witnessed good viewership to be present in top shows' list. Its recently launched reality property Nach Baliye rated 4741 TVTs in this week (6034 TVTs earlier).
At No. 2 is Colors, which added 7413 GVTs to close the week with 479010 GVTs. Colors' Bigg Boss averaged 5316 TVTs (last week 5133 TVTs) as Anil Kapoor's 24 clocked 2881 TVTs(last week 2755 TVTs) in the week ended November 16. Three of its shows were placed in the top shows' list.
Life OK is next with 340200 GVTs (last week 344624 GVTs). It is followed by SAB TV, which grossed 315637 GVTs (last week 310534 GVTs) as its Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma stood in the top shows' list.
Sahara One recorded 35749 GVTs (last week 31549 GVTs); Star Utsav rated 88382 GVTs (last week 89355 GVTs) and Zee Anmol grossed 44457 GVTs (last week 41776 GVTs).
Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs with average of 11223 TVTs (last week 10921 TVTs). This is followed by Zee TV's Jodha Akbar that fetched 9176TVTs (last week 8989 TVTs).
Next is Colors' Comedy Nights With Kapil that got 8588 TVTs (last week 7357 TVTs).SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma clocked 7782 TVTs (last week 7135 TVTs) and is placed at No.4.
The next three spots are occupied by Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard with 7774 TVTs (last week 7754 TVTs), Saathiya Saath Nibhana with 7708 TVTs (last week 7518 TVTs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai with 7335 TVTs (last week 7039). Colors' Balika Vadhu clocked 7298 TVTs (last week 7581 TVTs) and is next.
At No. 9 is Colors' Sasural Simar Ka that registered 6182 TVTs (last week 5359 TVTs). Mahabharat is next with 5807 TVTs (last week 5475).
For the record, the figures mentioned are approximate TVT figures. TVT is television viewership in 1000s (TVR in 1000). It is an average number of individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
