Contract ropes in Rahul Ghosh

Ghosh will lead the creative team and will report to Kapil Mishra, executive creative director and Mumbai creative head.

Speaking about the appointment, Ashish Chakravarty, national creative director, Contract Advertising, says, "Rahul and I had a short but glorious run together back at Euro RSCG (now Havas Worldwide) Delhi, in early 2000. We won some big accounts, few metals, and had a whale of a time while at it. He has grown into a leadership role since then, and created a solid body of work along the way, including my favourite 'Manu-Ranjan ka baap' commercial for SET Max. So, I am delighted to have him on board."

On the shift, Ghosh comments, "Contract is going through an exciting phase - a new belief, a new team and a new buzz. There is a place where it wants to be and getting to bat in a line-up led by Ashish Chakravarty was an offer that was difficult to refuse."

With 17 years of experience in the industry, Ghosh has worked with Havas Worldwide (former Euro RSCG) and DDB Mudra, Mumbai. This is his second stint at Contract. Some of the brands he has worked on include Bajaj Allianz, SET Max, Nissan, Standard Chartered Bank, Adidas, Marvel Realtors, Godrej Real Good Chicken and Air India. Ghosh has also won many creative awards including four Abbys, a Design Bronze Lion at Cannes and an Effie.

Contract has been beefing up its creative teams with new hires since October. Besides giving Kapil Mishra the charge of creative work for Mumbai, the agency hired Talha Bin Mohsin and Mahesh Parab from DDB Mudra, Delhi, as vice-presidents and senior creative directors. Souvik Dutta of TBWA Delhi also joined Contract Delhi as vice-president and senior creative director.
