Seshasai KVS replaces Navneet Anhal as CEO, Zee Learn

KVS joins the Zee Group from Reliance Brands. Meanwhile, Anhal moves out to pursue personal interests.

Zee Learn, the educational division of the Essel Group, has appointed Seshasai KVS as chief executive officer. He replaces Navneet Anhal, who has moved out of the company to pursue personal interests. Anhal, COO, was promoted as CEO in April, 2013. He quit Zee Learn after a stint of around six years.

KVS has moved to Zee Learn from Reliance Brands, where he was business head, Kenneth Cole & Thomas Pink.

Subodh Kumar, chairman, Zee Learn, says, "The Zee Learn Board welcomes Seshasai KVS as the new CEO of Zee Learn. We are confident his experience in varied functions will give a fresh impetus to Zee Learn and accelerate its growth in the coming years."

Talking about his new role, KVS says, "Education is a sector close to my heart. I look forward to contributing in shaping the human capital of the country with opportunities through Zee Learn." The division, he adds, is a known name in the core education sector today and aims to make a positive impact on students, parents and partners associated with the group.

An alumnus of IIM Bengaluru, KVS brings with him over 16 years of experience. He has spent a sizable part of this time working in the retail sector. KVS had joined Wipro as senior marketing executive after completing BE in Electronics and Communications from Birla Institute of Technology (1992). He worked at Wipro for three years before heading to IIM for management studies (1995).

Later, he was appointed as TAS Officer at Tata Administrative Services. He then moved to Trent, where he worked for 11 years and held different roles; he joined as head, business excellence and worked at the position till 2006 before he was promoted as GM, strategy and business head in 2006, and later as COO for Fashion Yatra and Sisley in 2009.

For the record, Zee Learn is part of the Essel group and consults with local entrepreneurs looking to set up K-12 schools under its brand name Mount Litera Zee Schools. Zee Learn also provides end to end education management and advisory services.

ZeeQ, a kid's genre channel, was launched by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) in 2012. The channel caters to children in the 4-14 years age bracket.
