Santosh Padhi to be part of International ANDY Awards jury

Padhi, who is Taproot India's chief creative officer and co-founder, is the only Indian to be part of the 50th edition of the awards jury.

Taproot's Santosh Padhi has been chosen as one of the jury members at the annual International ANDY Awards. This year, the award completes 50 years. The 26-member jury, to be presided over by David Droga of Droga5, will meet to judge entries in Shanghai, China, towards the end of this month.

Last year, Prasoon Joshi, executive chairman and CEO, McCann Worldwide India, and president, South Asia, was par t of International ANDY Awards jury. Ogilvy's Piyush Panday and Sonal Dabral of DDB Mudra are some of the other Indian advertising veterans who have been part of the jury earlier.

On being chosen as a jury member, Padhi says, "ANDY is one of the reputed award shows in the world. It's difficult to get an ANDY, as they have maintained a certain standard. They always get the best minds of our industry to do justice to the output of the show. I am very happy to be part of this elite panel." Apparently, Padhi was invited to be part of the award's jury last year but had to give it a miss in the last minute, he reveals.

International ANDY Awards was set up in 1964 and recognises outstanding work in various media. A not-for-profit international event, the proceedings generated from the function go to The Advertising Club Foundation, New York, where it is used for education initiatives. It also awards student works.
