This number, when extrapolated to All India Universe as per standard industry conversions, means that the launch episode was watched by 7.9 crore Indians.

The show recorded 7429 TVT in All India (All 4+, All India) and a HSM TVT of 6770 (All 4+, HSM). These are simulcast ratings of the original episode aired on Sunday morning at 11 am across seven channels (Star Plus, STAR Pravah, STAR World, STAR Utsav, STAR Vijay, Asianet and Doordarshan) along with the 1 pm original airing on ETV Telugu.

As per TAM data (C&S, HSM, 4+) provided by a subscriber, Satyamev Jayate 2 opened with 4874 TVTs. While the first episode of the second season of SMJ started with the Delhi Gang Rape Case that took place in 2012, it highlighted the various facts and figures about rape incidents that occur in the country. Khan even talked to the guests about the treatment meted out to rape survivors, be it by the doctors or the police officials. The episode aired for two hours.

The performance of SMJ boosted Star Plus' ratings to newer heights as the leading Hindi general entertainment channel grossed 717000 GVTs (last week 637000 GVTs) in the week ended March 8. Six of its shows featured in the top 10 shows' list.

Star Plus' recently launched shows Mad in India and Ishq Kills recorded 2366 TVTs and 1596 TVTs, respectively.

Zee TV held onto the second spot with 528000 GVTs, as compared to 548000 GVTs in Week 9 of TAM. Two of its shows were in the top shows' chart.

Colors followed with 435000 GVTs (last week 465000). It managed to push one of its shows to the topper's list.

Star India's second rung Hindi GEC Life OK grossed 373000 GVTs (last week 341000 GVTs) as Multi Screen Media's second GEC, SAB clocked 305000 GVTs (last week 303000 GVTs). SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continued to be in the top shows' list.

Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs with an average of 12748 TVTs, followed by the channel's Saathiya Saath Nibhana that clocked 10853 TVTs.

Zee TV's Jodha Akbar concluded the week with 10767 TVTs as Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil ended the week with 9515 TVTs.

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai occupied the fifth spot with 8766 TVTs. At No. 6 was Zee TV's DID Lil Masters that garnered 8764 TVTs. SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with 6904 TVTs took the seventh spot. It was followed by Star Plus' Veera, Mahabharat and Pyaar Ka Dard, that clocked 6771 TVTs, 6669 TVTs and 6646 TVTs, respectively.

For the record, the figures mentioned are approximate TVT figures. TVT is television viewership in 1000s (TVR in 1000). It is the average number of individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
