'Mosaic 2014 - India's Best in Print' showcases the best of the print campaigns launched last year. It has been curated by afaqs! as a partner for the third consecutive year.

Dainik Bhaskar started inviting entries for selection of the campaigns in the last week of December and the last date for sending entries was February 7.

The book was launched by Rana Kapoor (founder, MD & CEO of Yes Bank), CVL Srinivas (CEO at GroupM South Asia) and Pradeep Dwivedi (chief corporate sales and marketing officer, Dainik Bhaskar Group).

Mosaic 2014 has more than 130 pages that feature the best print campaigns of around 70 brands created by 22 creative agencies of India, both big and small. The agencies include Contract Advertising, Curry-Nation, DDB Mudra Group, Lowe Lintas & Partners, Draftfcb Ulka and ideas@work.

Every agency's set of work is accompanied by a commentary of a creative leader of the organisation explaining the thought behind each campaign.

Dwivedi says, "In this year, the quality of contribution has improved a lot. We have had all the regular partners in advertising and the creative quotient is getting better with each edition. Also, the number of product categories this year is more than previous years. The quality of entries is improving by leaps and bounds and I think the recognition of print ads in Goafest and other events as well, is showing that the young creative talent that is coming is focusing on print advertising as on digital and TV.

"Mosaic is a compendium of all the creative work that has been done in 2013. Emerging creative professionals can take inspiration from it. Inspiration can come from anywhere and I feel in the area of advertising, through Mosaic we can light that fire of creativity in print advertising."

The book also contains comments from leading media experts on their five favourite ads from the selection of 83, and what made them choose those. The expert panel includes Bedraj Tripathy (senior general manager, integrated marketing, Godrej Interio); Bishwajeet Samal (assistant general manager, marketing communication, Volkswagen Group Sales India); Divya Radhakrishnan (MD, Helios Media); Kartik Iyer (MD, Carat India); Pratap Bose (COO, DDB Mudra Group); and Sandip Tarkas (president, customer strategy, Future Group).

Some of the leading brands featured in the book are Mercedes, Hindustan Times, Moods Centuary, Platinum Guild International, ICICI Direct.com and KamaSutra & MTV 'Hardwear'Aud.

Mosaic books are printed and distributed among creative agencies, media agencies and corporates.

For the record, the first edition featured over 70 print campaigns by 25 leading agencies, while the second edition showcased the best of print ads of 105 brands created by more than 31 leading creative agencies in India.

DB Corp publishes eight newspapers with 58 editions, in four languages (Hindi, Gujarati, English and Marathi) across 14 states in India. Its noteworthy newspaper brands are Dainik Divya Marathi, Business Bhaskar, DB Gold, DB Star and DNA (in Gujarat, Rajasthan and MP) on a franchisee basis. The company's other business interests also span the radio segment through the brand My FM radio with presence in seven states and 17 cities, and a strong online presence in internet portals.
