Vodafone follows its customers from Gujarat

The telecom giant has branded all the 14 bogies of the popular Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shatabdi Express to encourage Gujaratis to browse, download, stream, and chat through Vodafone's high-speed 3G data service.

Not satisfied with catching them at home, Vodafone Gujarat is pursuing potential customers on a train now. The telecom major has launched a campaign where it has branded all the 14 bogies of the Shatabdi Express connecting Gujarat with Mumbai.

Most people travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai prefer the Shatabdi. Vodafone Gujarat, in collaboration with Indian Railways, has for the first time in India done a complete train wrap of all the coaches of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shatabdi Express. The train was unveiled by a Vodafone ZooZoo at Ahmedabad railway station.

This branding initiative aims to promote Vodafone's high-speed 3G data network (with a dongle that provides data transfer speeds up to 21.1mbps) and 3G mobile internet capabilities which include free data roaming for Vodafone Gujarat customers travelling to any part of India.

Speaking about this endeavour Brajesh Bajpai, business head - Gujarat, Vodafone India says, "It is a great platform to get our message across to an estimated 300,000 eyeballs each day along its route. We found great synergy between Shatabdi's association with speed and Vodafone's faster, smarter, better positioning for our 3G service offering. Our customers who travel to Mumbai can enjoy continued connectivity, stay informed and entertained through the duration of their journey with the competitively priced 3G mobile internet packs."

Vodafone India serves 166 million customers. Globally, it has over 434 million customers in its controlled and jointly controlled markets.
