It's official: CNN-IBN's deputy editor and prime time anchor Sagarika Ghose has finally announced her exit from the company.

Sagarika Ghose bids adieu to CNN-IBN
Following the departure of several key professionals from the Network18 Group (fully-owned by Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries now) over the past few weeks, rumours of Ghose (and Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief of the IBN18 Network) having quit the group, were doing the rounds. The IBN18 Network includes CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat.

The two were on leave for a month and, after returning, Ghose sent a 'goodbye mail' to her colleagues. She also tweeted about her exit; the tweet reads: "Goodbye CNNIBN. God bless!"

Ghose was the host of 'Face The People', a popular show on CNN-IBN, in which she typically put a current issue to test and gauged the mood of the public.

In light of Ghose's exit, the show's official twitter page also shared a tweet about her contribution to the show; it reads: "Goodbye @sagarikaghose: fiery, brilliant, journalist of courage! You are irreplaceable and we will miss you every day. From FTP team." Ghose has been a journalist since 1991 and has worked at The Times Of India, Outlook (magazine) and The Indian Express.

Ghose holds a Bachelor's degree in History from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. A recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship (1987), she also has a degree in Modern History from Magdalen College and an M.Phil from St Antony's College, Oxford. She is the daughter of Bhaskar Ghose, ex-IAS officer (batch of 1960 batch) and former director general of Doordarshan.
