M G Parameswaran, advisor, FCB Ulka Advertising has been elected president of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) for the year 2014-15 at its annual general body meeting. He takes over from Arvind Sharma, who will be the ex-officio member of AAAI's new executive committee. Nakul Chopra, CEO South Asia, Publicis Communications has been named vice-president of the association.

Other elected members of the executive committee include Nagesh Alai (Interface Communications), Sam Balsara (Madison Communications), Rana Barua (Contract Advertising), Ashish Bhasin (Aegis Media India), Kunal Lalani, (Crayons Advertising), Rohit Ohri (Dentsu Creative Impact), Pranav Premnarayan (Prem Associates Advertising & Marketing), C V L Srinivas (Group M Media India), Vivek Srivastava (Innocean Worldwide Communication) and Srinivasan K Swamy (R K Swamy BBDO).

AAAI is the official, national organisation of advertising agencies, formed to promote their industry's interests so that they continue to make an essential and ever-increasing contribution to the nation. The AAAI, today, is truly representative, with a very large number of small, medium and large-sized agencies as its members, who together account for almost 80 per cent of the advertising business placed in the country.
