While Shetty was previously the chief strategy officer, Sharma was the COO. Based out of Mumbai, both will report to Prashant Panday, MD and CEO, ENIL. Sharma will now look after the Phase III expansion programme of the company and any other strategic growth areas the company may pursue. Shetty will look after the ambitious plans of the current radio business.
Talking about the development, Panday says, "This elevation comes at a time when we are gearing up for a rapid growth with the announcement of Phase III. We are confident Sharma and Shetty will steer the company in the right direction going forward." Sharma has around 23 years of experience in varied industries ranging from FMCG, consumer durables to telecom & media. He joined Radio Mirchi in 2003. Shetty has 19 years of experience in the media and FMCG sectors. He joined Radio Mirchi in 2006.
Says Sharma, "Radio Mirchi's expansion plans are of the utmost importance as we expect the implementation of Phase III to happen soon. I am glad that the company sees the fit in me to take Radio Mirchi to newer markets." Shetty, too, is quietly confident, "My mandate is to ensure that we remain the leaders and maintain our profitability while expanding the network."
The brand in its recent endeavour has revamped Mirchi Top 20 by adding new legs to it. ENIL operates across 32 cities in the country. It was launched in 2001 and some of its properties are Purani Jeans Film Festival and the Mirchi Music Awards.
