The contest spans Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Goa, Amravati, Nanded, Nagpur and Vasai. All that the participants have to do is click a selfie and post it on the app created on the
.

The winner will be determined by the number of "likes" the photo receives during the tenure of the contest. The contest is open till the last week of October. Starting today, a 'Vodafone Campus Selfies activation team' will tour 65 colleges across Maharashtra and Goa creating awareness about the campaign. The team will create an experience zone, which will teach participants how to capture the perfect selfie.

Moreover, Vodafone India, as a responsible corporate, will educate students on the 'Dos and Don'ts of Social Media' and teach them basic principles to follow while making use of social media portals. Speaking about the unique initiative, Ishmeet Singh, business head, Maharashtra and Goa, Vodafone India, says, "With increasing data penetration and rise of smartphones, the selfie phenomenon has become an instant hit within the student community. 'Vodafone Campus Selfies' is aimed to engage with this community by creating an environment of fun and excitement while educating them on how to use the social media platforms responsibly."

Vodafone has been quite vocal when it comes to digital marketing. It uses social media in two ways - it has a standalone Vodafone brand page on Facebook where it has 1.2 million likes, apart from operating the Zoozoo page, which has 19.1 million likes.

On Twitter, however, the brand has a single page with just over 202,000 followers. Vodafone claims to solve, or address, around 8,000 Twitter complaints a month. The Vodafone India page has a corporate presence on Facebook. That's the place for all company-related news, updates and offers. It is primarily used to interact with customers for their queries and to let them be in touch with Vodafone India as a company.

The Zoozoo page started off as a brand community page and has been popular since inception. During the first wave of Zoozoo advertising, Vodafone had set up the page as a primary destination for fans to access exclusive Zoozoo stories and content.
