Three New Shows to Beef up SAB TV's Programming Line-up

Sab TV, the family entertainment channel from Multi Screen Media, is aiming to strengthen its content line-up with three new shows launching this weekend. The new offerings include two silent comedies - season 3 of Gutur Gu and Chintu aur Pintu, and a musical game show, 'Family Antakshari #Baithe Baithe Kya Kare'.

Family Antakshari will involve multiple interactive rounds with the contestants that will engage them and the audience simultaneously. Anooj Kapoor, senior EVP and business head - SAB TV says, "We are presenting the traditional activity in a different style to involve every member of the family in the game. True to the channel's brand ideology of 'Asli Mazaa SAB Ke Saath Aata Hai', the show will highlight the positives of the joint family system."

The contesting families participate in rounds such as karaoke (wherein the participant will be shown songs with missing words and they would need to sing the complete version). Another such round involves anchors to enact a famous scene/dance step from a movie and the participants need to guess and sing any song from that particular movie. A competition is not over without a fast-paced buzzer round where participants need to identify the tune and sing the correct song. There will also be something called 'AnnuJi Ki Googly', a round wherein the judge will field different questions and clues about Hindi movies and songs to the participating families and they will have to identify the same and sing the correct song to win points.

According to the channel, 'Gutur Gu' is based on a character called Balu - a simple, innocent and hyper enthusiastic character who consistently finds his way into misadventures in his otherwise dull and routine life. He somehow succeeds to turn mundane situations into indigenous adventures.The show shall exhibit slapstick comedy and have myriad twists and turns in its storytelling script.

'Chintu Aur Pintu' captures the eventful life of Chintu, a lively young man who lives in a small town in India. He is emotionally attached to few things in his life that are his coat, bicycle, his wife Pinky and son Pintu. The show shall take the viewers through different situations in their travel journey that make for a laughter riot.

Gutur Gu and Chintu Aur Pintu will air every Saturday and Sunday at at 7 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively. "SAB TV was the first and only channel to successfully produce silent comedies in India. Both, Gutur Gu and the Chintu series have been immensely popular amongst SAB TV audiences and we are glad to get them back on the channel.
