Star Plus is still on top. The flagship Hindi GEC from the Star stable scored 594825 GVTs for the week, down from the 600523 GVTs that the channel had scored in the previous week. Five of its shows have featured in the top shows list.
At No.3 is Zee Network's flagship GEC Zee TV that lost viewership to clock 393512 GVTs in week 43 of TAM. The channel in the previous week had recorded 418103 GVTs. Three of its shows have made to the top list.
Sab TV is next in the hierarchy. The channel toppled Life OK to rest at No.4 with 287091 GVTs (last week 276437). Life OK closed the week with 256529 GVTs (last week 301763). Sony Entertainment Television followed with 247590 GVTs, up from 228235 GVTs in last week.
Zee Anmol concluded the week with 94836 GVTs (last week 94255), Star Utsav with 77511 GVTs (last week 81354), Rishtey with 55671 GVTs (last week 42980), Sony Pal with 26215 GVTs (last week 25326), Zindagi with 26614 GVTs (last week 21028) and Sahara One with 11305 GVTs (last week 10087).
A look at the shows...
Star Plus' Diya Aur Bati Hum, Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein were the three most watched shows in the genre in week 43. The shows clocked an average of 8819 TVTs, 6895 TVTs and 6732 TVTs, respectively.
Zee TV's Jodha Akbar is next with 6667 TVTs. It is followed by Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai that settled with 6534 TVTs in the week. Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil occupied the sixth spot with 6393 TVTs as Zee TV's Kumkumbhagya followed with 6338 TVTs. At No.8 is Colors' Sasural Simar Ka that fetched 5692 TVTs. Zee TV's Jamai Raja and Star Plus' Ek Hasina Thi with 5528 TVTs and 5088 TVTs respectively, rested at the bottom of the ladder.
For the record, the figures mentioned are approximate TVT figures. TVT is television viewership in '000s. It is the average number of individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
