The initiative allows users to create personalised video cards for their friends.
Facebook has launched a new initiative called 'Say Thanks' (facebook.com/thanks) that will allow users to create personalised video cards for their friends on the world's largest social network.
To create a 'Say Thanks' video, one has to choose a friend and Facebook will generate a preview of the video. Users can then select a different theme and edit photos and posts that represent their friendship. Once satisfied with the video, one can click "Share" and they have the option of writing a personalised message before posting. The video will post on the Timeline and the friends will be tagged, so it will show up on their Timeline as well.
Facebook has over 1.3 billion users globally and more than 100 million users in India. In February this year, it had launched a similar initiative to celebrate its 10th anniversary. It offered users a personalised video summarising their life on Facebook over the past years. Each user's "Look Back" had a compilation of 15 or so of their most-liked photos, statuses, and life events.
