MobiKwik appoints Mrinal Sinha as Head of Strategy

MobiKwik (https://www.mobikwik.com/), a mobile wallet brand with12 million users, has appointed Mrinal Sinha as head of strategy. Prior to this, Sinha was the founder and executive director at Brattle Foods, a food supply chain solutions and logistics business. He was instrumental in raising $8 million in equity financing and growing revenues to $10 million.

At MobiKwik, Sinha will devise the strategic roadmap with the management, identifying key opportunities for talent and technology acquisition, fostering crucial alliances and kick starting new revenue lines within the company.

Bipin Preet Singh, founder and CEO, MobiKwik, says, "Having established the brand as the leading mobile wallet in the country, we are now looking at strategic expansion and diversification. Mrinal will play a pivotal role in our further evolution thanks to years of business development and corporate strategy experience across domains."

On his appointment, Sinha says, "My objective will be to leverage my education and experience to chart out the expansion strategy for MobiKwik, form key partnerships with banks, device makers and other payments companies. I am also looking forward to identifying new business lines for MobiKwik and set the ball rolling for the same in the near future."

Sinha has a Master's degree in technology from IIT-Madras. He also has a Master's in business administration from Harvard Business School. He has worked in globally renowned organisations such as McKinsey, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and EMC Corporation.

The announcement is the latest amongst other important appointments made by MobiKwik in key leadership positions. The 100-people-strong company recently got on board ex-MakeMyTrip vice president, technology, Virender Bisht as the chief technology officer. As a part of its steady expansion wave, MobiKwik has announced plans to hire a chief marketing officer and head of products over the next three months.

Started in 2009, MobiKwik Wallet enables users to pay in a flash for their recurring mobile recharge, bill payments and online purchases on popular e-commerce websites (and apps) including eBay, Snapdeal, ShopClues, MakeMyTrip, redBus, BookMyShow, Domino's Pizza, Fashionandyou, American Swan, Abhibus, Purplle, HomeShop18, Naaptol, Pepperfry, Yepme and Infibeam.
