GEC Watch: Life OK, Sab TV gain marginally in week 52 of TAM

Life OK and Sab TV, the second rung Hindi GECs from the Star India and Multi Screen Media stable were the two major channels that witnessed an increase in viewership ratings in week 52 of TAM.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+), provided by a subscriber, Life OK recorded 329200 GVTs in the week (last week 327014) while Sab TV closed the week with 319608 GVTs (last week 310462).

Sony Entertainment Television was next in the hierarchy. The channel settled with 236682 GVTs, down from last week's 240008 GVTs. Zee Anmol ended the week with 81045 GVTs (last week 85173), Star Utsav closed with 75135 GVTs (last week 71841), Rishtey registered 63653 GVTs (last week 63645) and Big Magic wound up with 63489 GVTs (last week 59613).

Of the remaining channels, Zindagi clocked 28541 GVTs (last week 31545), Sony Pal rated 23007 GVTs (last week 2515), Sahara One recorded 13001 GVTs (last week 10802) and Epic registered 5281 GVTs (last week 4534) in the last week of year 2014.

A look at the shows...

Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein are the two most watched shows in the genre that rated an average of 10743 TVTs and 9425 TVTs, respectively.

At No.3 is Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya that clocked 8998 TVTs as Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai closed the week with 8162 TVTs. Next in the chart is Sab TV's flagship show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma that clocked 8002 TVTs.

The sixth spot was occupied by Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus), which recorded 7951 TVTs. Colors' Udaan and Sasural Simar Ka are the next two with 7038 TVTs and 6769 TVTs, respectively.

At No.9 and No.10 are Zee TV's Jodha Akbar that ended the week 6756 TVTs and Jamai Raja that concluded the week with 6676 TVTs.
