GEC Watch: A good start for Colors' 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 6'

The show garnered 8593 TVTs in the debut episode of its sixth edition.

Colors' reality show 'Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi' (KKK), hosted by Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, fetched a viewership of 8593 TVTs in the opening episode of its sixth season. The show was the sixth most watched in the genre.

Launched on February 7, in the weekend 9 PM time-slot, the show replaced 'Bigg Boss Season 8'. Despite a good viewership of the show, it failed to do much for Colors, as the Viacom18 channel lost numbers in week 6 of TAM. As per TAM data, (HSM, C&S, 4+) provided by a subscriber, Colors grossed 454157 GVTs in the week, down from last week's 476976 GVTs. Besides KKK, a fiction property of Colors featured in the top 10 shows.

Despite losing numbers, Colors came back to the second spot as Zee TV saw a decline in viewership. The channel, marginally behind Colors, clocked 450944 GVTs in the week, as opposed to 485396 GVTs in the last week. Zee TV had, last week, dethroned Colors from the second position after a long time on the back of the Indian television premiere of Bollywood movie, 'Happy New Year'. Zee TV managed to push two of its shows to the top.

Meanwhile, Star Plus maintained its lead in the genre with 645013 GVTs, as compared to previous week's 616431 GVTs. Five of its shows appeared in the top shows list.

At No.4 is Star India's second Hindi GEC, Life OK, that registered 309669 GVTs, down from 337642 GVTs in the previous week.

Multi Screen Media's Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television concluded the week with 293685 GVTs (last week 294412 GVTs) and 235501 GVTs (last week 263082), respectively.

Zee Anmol ended the week with 95518 GVTs (last week 95210), Star Utsav with 90551 GVTs (last week 73958), Rishtey with 57080 GVTs (last week 51262), Big Magic with 53028 GVTs (last week 41799), Sony Pal with 25566 GVTs (last week 29159), Zindagi with 18058 GVTs (last week 18439), Sahara One with 9789 GVTs (last week 8467) and Epic with 7744 GVTs (last week 8057).

A look at the shows...

Star Plus' 'Diya Aur Baati Hum', 'Yeh Hain Mohabbatein' and 'Saathiya Saath Nibhana' are the most watched TV shows in the genre, with an average rating of 10908 TVTs, 9129 TVTs and 8975 TVTs, respectively.

At No. 4 is Zee TV's 'KumKum Bhagya' that closed the week with 8909 TVTs, followed by Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' that fetched a viewership of 8613 TVTs in the week.

The sixth and seventh spots feature KKK (8593 TVTs) and 'Sasural Simar Ka' that rated an average of 7779 TVTs in the week. Sab TV's 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma' follows with 7329 TVTs.

At No. 9 is Zee TV's 'Jamai Raja' with 7301 TVTs, followed by Star Plus' 'Tu Mera Hero' with 7143 TVTs.
