Big Magic to air Naarad Muni

Big Magic, Reliance Broadcast Network's general entertainment channel (GEC), has announced the launch of a mythological comedy show called Naarad Muni. It will be based on the mythological character Naarad, a 'Dev Rishi'.

This development comes on the back of the success of Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal, a costume drama and India's first 'historical comedy'.

Naarad Muni will offer light-hearted comedy based on the character and his exploits across the universe. The story line will be centred on the life of Naarad, and will be told from his point of view. The bitter-sweet relationship between Naarad and Vishnu, his mentor, will be highlighted too. There will be a lesson at the end of every story.

Lavneesh Gupta, COO, Reliance Broadcast Network, says the show will be a "balance of comedy and humor" and that the distribution for it is "in place."

Moreover, Gupta speaks about "an extensive marketing plan" to mark the launch of the show. The media mix will include radio, television, outdoor, print, digital and activation channels.
