Viral Now: Playful Puppyhood with Purina Puppy Chow

The pet food brand ties up with BuzzFeed once again to show how happy and energetic 'Queen Charles' feels when Purina Puppychow is served to him.

A cat teaching a young kitten the ways of the world made us smile a few months ago. Now, a dog named 'Queen Charles' has replaced the cat. Aptly titled 'Puppyhood', pet food brand Purina - more popular for its 'Dear Kitten' videos featuring the product Purina Friskies for felines - has tried to showcase the happy and healthy side of being a puppy through PuppyChow, food for a baby dog.

In the three-minute-thirty-four-second-long video, a man is shown visiting a market where he comes across a board that reads "Puppy Adoption. Today. 10-2". The man decides to take a good look at the puppy sitting inside its enclosure and finally brings the little canine home. The beginning of the video shows the man telling the little canine 'Do anything that you want' while the rest of the video shows how the man and the little puppy are happy being around each other - talking, running and even playing the piano together.

Once the man puts the PuppyChow in the bowl, Queen Charles' joy and energy knows no bounds as he jumps and moves about the entire place on his own. The man looks elated too as the two bond easily.

The video was uploaded on the official Buzzfeed channel on May 29. Since then it has received more than 3.7 million hits till date. Previously, the 'Dear Kitten' videos by Purina had received 16.7 million hits.

BuzzFeed Video and Purina's partnership began in April with the launch of the 'Humans Are a Dog's Best Friend' video for the latter's 'Beneful' brand of dog food (1.3 million views) and 'A Cat's Guide to Taking Care of Your Humans' for Friskies, which was launched in November 2013 (6.7 million views). The same team has also released two more videos in the Dear Kitten series, named 'My Friend Peanut' and 'Impersona-Cat'.
